Two-photon induced catalytic reactions

C. Andraud, P. Baldeck, S. Parola, F. Chaput, L. Bonneviot

Catalysis is an extremely important field of research. We would like to contribute to the fundamental knowledge and further on to new applications in the field of photoinduced catalytic reaction. The idea is to use two-photon excitation process in order to activate catalytic process in the focal point of the laser. We have sufficient expertise in these fields to investigate deeply the processes that can be induced and develop new kind of catalytic systems. Activation of small molecules like CO2 will be for instance investigated as a first step towards original catalytic routes. This project was financially supported in 2014 through the “fond recherche” of the ENS.
