Imaging - Therapy - Biochemistry

Animated by  Natacha Gillet

The "Chemistry & Live Science" theme focuses on the development of specific chemical objects able to interact with biological systems for different purposes: imaging modalities (MRI, photo-acoustic, spectral scanner with photon counting, biphotonic and fluorescence microscopy), tumour treatment by photodynamic or radiotherapy, protein crystallisation, molecular biomarkers, etc. The considered chemical objects include organic molecules, lanthanide complexes, metallic, organic or hybrid nanoparticles. Our approaches start from the synthesis and engineering of systems at different scales (from molecules to nanomaterials) to reach the in vivo application via our collaborations with biologists and physicians, through the physico-chemical and photochemical characterization of the different objects as well as the modelling of their interactions with biomolecules by computational chemistry approaches.
