Professorship in Computer Science at the ENS de Lyon

* Teaching:
The successful candidate will become a professor of the Computer Science teaching department of the ENS de Lyon. She/he will be in charge of courses with a strong emphasis on implementation and the experimental aspects of Computer Science such as programming projects, compilation, systems, networks, architecture, etc. In line with the mission of the Ecoles Normales Supérieures, she/he will guide the students towards academic careers in these areas. It is expected that the professor will actively participate in the development of the curriculum. International applications are welcome as courses can be taught in English.

* Research:
The applicant will develop a research project within the scientific spectrum of the LIP or in a new research area in harmony with the current spectrum. This research project should be related to the professor's teaching activities. She/he is expected to have significant experience in the proposed research area with publications or software development at the highest international level. She/he may be required to take on "research management" responsibilities. This position is widely open: external French and international applications are strongly encouraged.

The LIP is a joint research unit between the CNRS, ENS de Lyon, INRIA and the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. There are currently 145 members (60 permanent academics, 11 administrative support staff, 48 PhD students and 26 postdocs) across seven research teams. It is located within the ENS de Lyon. The scientific spectrum of the LIP lies within the general themes of Computer Science, ranging from foundations (computing models, languages) to execution (scheduling, middleware) via computing tools (algorithms, compilation). One of the LIP's specificities lies in this continuum from theory to concrete developments, leading to a channel from theorems to technology transfers, via algorithms and software.
