Physics M2 - Courses

The academic year is divided into two semesters (Master's S3 and S4). Students are free to choose their UEs ("study units"), according to their interests. To help them choose from among the 30 modules available, we offer a proposed ranking between the principal scientific orientations.

Click on the titles of the courses listed below to consult their individual course descriptions. Finally, you can consult the schedule and timetable pages (links opposite) to further personalize your academic programme!

Semester 3

This semester, divided into two 9-week periods (3a and 3b), is validated by a minimum of 30 ECTS credits. Each proposed module corresponds to 24 hours of in-class instruction and 10 hours of tutorials, and is worth 6 ECTS.

Semester 4

This semester is also divided into two periods (4a and 4b). The first 9 weeks are dedicated to optional courses, which allow students to validate a minimum of 12 ECTS credits. Each proposed module corresponds to 21 hours of in-class instruction and is worth 4 ECTS. With the directors' approval, students can also choose UEs from other master's programmes, notably one of the optional M1 modules. The semester ends with a research placement of at least 16 weeks, worth 18 ECTS.
