Most of the studies in Lagrangian turbulence consider rigid particles (sphere, rigid ellipsoids, ...). However, in several application the deformability of the particles has been shown to play a major role as for drag reduction due to polymers or to bubbles, fiber aggregation, ... The role of particle deformation on its transport has already been studied in laminar flows in several configuration: modification of the sedimentation, of the diffusion in cellular flow, ... In turbulence, this question has been barely investigated. In this presentation, I will first present our work on the characterization of the transition between rigid fibers to flexible fibers. I will then discuss the deformation in the flexible regime. In both part, I will show that an analogy with the deformation of a polymer in a thermal bath can be drawn and that the differences between these two systems are directly related to the statistical properties of turbulence.
