The UMR5667 entitled "Reproduction et Développement des Plantes" was created in 1993.

The scientific objectives of our laboratory are centered on sexual reproduction and some aspects of flower development with several research axes such as: sex determination and reproductive organs development, self-incompatibility, double fertilization and early the development of two "embryos", development and senescence of petals as well as development and evolution of carpelles. We aim to answer several basic questions of developmental biology of which the applications can lead to the improvement of several plant traits (seeds, quality of flowers, etc.). Our research aims at good scientific research advances and the good training of young scientists.
