Seminar "Modelling in biology" - Richard Malgat

Our next meeting will held the 22th of September at 2pm in the big CBP room. Richard Malgat, a PhD student in the RDP will present to us the work he has done during his PhD :

’Computational modeling of internal mechanical properties of plant cells.’

’In this work I present mainly two physically based models of plant cells. Our models rely on confocal images so that their structure is realistic. They are build to deduce mechanical properties of cell walls and to give experimentalist a framework on which they can rely for their experiments. If we have time, I can also present a general method we have developed for multi-scale modeling in physics (for FEM or meshless methods for instance), that is not only relevant to plants, but can be applied to many structures. ’
