Darwin’s « abominable mystery » : new clues on the origin of the flowering plants.

An article in preview this week in the journal New Phytologist throws new light on one of the big questions of evolutionary biology : the origin of the flowering plants. This group first appeared around 150 million years ago, and rapidly diversified to generate over 300 000 species alive today. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/nph.14483/epdf
