HRS4R – Human resources strategy for researchers


The ENS de Lyon committed to HRS4R "Human Resources Strategy For Researchers" label application to participate to the process of establishing a European Research Area and complies with the European Charter for Researchers and on the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers recommendations.

Within 40 principles, the European charter and the code define on the one hand the roles and responsibilities of researchers, and on the other hand the recommendations enabling their employers to improve working, training and recruitment conditions in order to make scientific careers and researchers’ mobility more attractive.

As of 2016, the ENS de Lyon affirmed its intention to endorse the European principles and set in motion a collective dynamics with the aim of obtaining the HRS4R label which will contribute to reinforcing the attractiveness and the international visibility of the institution, and confirm the proper integration of the ENS de Lyon into the European Research Area.

A year and half of collective work made it possible to carry out an analysis of our practices, to compare them with the European recommendations and to elaborate the strategy of the ENS de Lyon. It is reflected in actions that will be developed as a priority over the next three years.

All institutional joint bodies of the institution voted favorably for the project. The Board of Directors approved the project on December 18, 2017. The ENS de Lyon has therefore applied for the HRS4R label.
