Honors and awards

Sabine Fourrier (HiSoMA) and Hervé Piégay (EVS) are among the 24 national laureates. Both of them would like to share this medal with their teams. Congratulations also to our 4 Alumni Ludovic Berthier, Isabelle Cantat, Jeanne Crassous and Ludovic Orlando, also distinguished by the CNRS.

The silver medal is presented to a researcher for the originality, quality, and importance of their work, which is recognised at national and international level. This year, the CNRS has awarded 24 researchers. Three of them are from the Rhône-Auvergne delegation, including two members of our laboratories. Four of our alumni also received this distinction.

Sabine Fourrier

CNRS Research Director at HISOMA laboratory - History and Sources of ancient worlds, archaeologist and specialist in the history of the Cypriot kingdoms.

I associate with this award the institutions that support our work (CNRS, HiSoMA , Maison de l'Orient, Excavation Commission of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs), the teams that bring them to life (archaeology is a collective discipline), and Cyprus, this part of Europe so badly affected by contemporary history and which nevertheless occupies such a large place in archaeological research.
