Chiral phosphocavitands and their properties
Cavitand 1 (ABiiPO(Quinox)) is a chirally inherent compound due tu the desymmetrisation brought by the difference between the bridging groups between the phenols of the aromatic crown. For instance, they display high affinity towards ammoniums due to hard P=O complexation sites having an inward (i) orientation. The racemic compound was resolved by semi-preparative HPLC and their chiroptical properties were studied (optical activity, ECD, VCD). Enantioselective complexations of chiral ammoniums of biological interest (adrenaline, ephedrine, nicotine?) were observed with this promising chiral host molecule.
