M2 Internship / Does nucleus shape and size carry the signature of turgor pressure in plant cells ?

Our main goal is to understand the role of turgor pressure in morphogenesis : in addition to driving growth by stretching the cell walls, the osmotic status of the cell might also apply forces on intracellular organelles, and especially the nucleus, with important consequences for gene expression. Within the framework of this interdisciplinary internship we will analyze the effect of the pressure on the shape and size of the nucleus.
