Equality and Diversity

The RDP Institute is committed to promoting equality and diversity and to providing an environment that offers equal opportunities for all individuals. Since 2020, the institute has two representatives, G. Brunoud and B. Landrein, for gender equality. They have two main responsibilities :

  • To serve as local points of contact for handling cases of sexist and sexual harassment within the RDP Institute.
  • To organize actions to raise awareness about gender inequalities and promote the careers of women in science.

Since 2020, the gender equality representatives have thus :

  • Evaluated the institute’s state of gender equality through metrics and a comprehensive survey shared with all permanent researchers (2021).
  • Organized an awareness event during the institute retreat, focusing on gender bias in scientific careers (2023).
  • Organized a research career day, inviting former female PhD students from the institute to present their career paths (2024). (iv) Organized a one-day visit to the institute for 35 female high school students (2025). Gender equality across different staff groups.

The RDP currently includes a certain number of members with registered disabilities. The laboratory has implemented visual warnings to ensure that alarms are accessible to members with hearing impairments and in areas with noisy equipment. Additionally, a laboratory member, Véronique Boltz (INRAE), serves as a regional accessibility representative for the INRAE centre, actively promoting awareness and inclusivity within the laboratory.
