NMR Relaxation Theory<\/span><\/h1>\n

The SU training will take place at CERM on Saturday 19th July, and at the Hotel Villa Stanley on Sunday morning. Accommodations will be extended for the pNMR fellows for the 19th-20th July, and lunch will be provided on Saturday 19th July. <\/span><\/p>\n

Location<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The scientific campus (Polo Universitario<\/a>) of the University of Florence.<\/span>
\n<\/p>\n

Accommodation<\/span><\/h2>\n

Students and invited colleagues will stay in the same hotel, situated in the nearby scientific campus within 15 minutes walking distance. A transfer shuttle bus will be provided between the hotel and the scientific campus in the mornings and evenings.<\/span><\/p>\n

All participants will be hosted on DUS room at the (Hotel Villa Stanley<\/a>), an elegant and historical residence located in Sesto Fiorentino.<\/span><\/p>\n

Content:<\/span><\/h2>\n

The EMBO Practical Course <\/strong>focuses on schemes for the acquisition of the NMR spectra of paramagnetic systems and on the analysis of the information that can be retrieved from the paramagnetic restraints. It will describe the main approaches used to characterize molecules and their complexes and on the characterization of the relaxation profiles of paramagnetic systems through field dependent measurements. We aim to cover hyperpolarization techniques, that are becoming increasingly important for improving the sensitivity of the NMR experiments, both in solution and in the solid state. In order not to limit the use of paramagnetism to metalloproteins, essential in this context is the use of rigidly binding lanthanide tags. Access will be provided to the advanced NMR instruments and software tools available at CERM.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Stockholm University Training<\/strong> will consist of a course given by Prof. Jozef Kowalewski. It will expand and deepen some of the material he will present during the main Florence event mentioned above.<\/span><\/p>\n
