China: a key academic and scientific partner for ENS de Lyon
The relationship between ENS de Lyon and China has been running for more than 20 years. During this time different kinds of partnerships and collaborations have been built whether in student exchanges, scientific projects, co-publications or teacher mobilities. Thus, ENS de Lyon was able to create and strengthen ties with many Chinese universities, signing both multilateral and bilateral agreements.

China Scholarship council - CSC
In 2013 the Group of French Écoles normales supérieures (ENS) and the China Scholarship Council - CSC signed a cooperation agreement providing funding for 30 PhD students for the whole ENS group (Paris, Paris-Saclay, Lyon, Rennes). This program recruits excellent doctoral students from all Chinese universities, or provides financial support for a Chinese doctoral student to carry out a research stay in a laboratory affiliated to one of the 4 ENS.
PRoSFER
In 2002 the four ENS in France and the East China Normal University (ECNU) signed a multilateral agreement launching the Program of Sino-French Education for Research (PRoSFER). The PRoSFER program is a master and PHD training program aiming at attracting promising Chinese students to ENS graduate courses (taught in China), and training some selected PhD students in France within ENS laboratories as part of their joint doctorates.
