My thesis work concerns remarkable solids named semimetals, like graphene or Dirac and Weyl semimetals. In these semimetals electrons behave like massless relativistic particles, although they move at velocities well below the speed of light. These materials have unique physical properties and they host a variety of phenomena typical of high energy physics. I will present my results on these phases, which concern their electronic transport properties, their stability and topoogical characterization, or disorder effects related to the presence of impurities.
