In this talk, we study the Proudman resonance. It is a resonant respond in shallow waters on a traveling atmospheric or bathymetric disturbance when the speed of the disturbance is close to the typical water wave velocity. Our main goal is to generalize this resonance in deep waters or when a Coriolis forcing is taken into account. If time permits, we will also add weakly non linear effects and derive some models to describe the Proudman resonance in this setting.
