Richard's lab uses C. elegans to study developmental plasticity, with a focus on the role of miRNAs in this process. One particularly exciting aspect of their work is their discovery that some neurons secrete miRNA-containing exosomes, which are then taken up by germline cells and can influence their fate! Additionally, his lab investigates AMPK-mediated chromatin remodeling during germ cell diapause, centrosome dynamics during gametogenesis, and the maintenance of lipid homeostasis by AMPK.
