The Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon is located in the Gerland district in the south of Lyon, near the Pasteur bridge, on the left side of the Rhône. It is easily found, near the Halle Tony Garnier. Due to its two smokestacks, the building looks like a big boat. The admitance is the only free acces.
How to get to the ENS-Lyon
- From the Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport
Take the Rhône Express from the airport to the Part-Dieu rail station. - From the Lyon Part-Dieu rail station
Take the Vivier Merle exit of the rail station, then take the subway, line B in the direction of the "Gare d'Oullins" station. Get down at the "Debourg" stop. Then follow this way to come to the LIP.
- From the Lyon Perrache rail station, 3 possibilities:

- Go to the tramway station of the Lyon Perrache rail station. Take the Tramway line T1, to Gerland. Get down at the "ENS Lyon" stop. Then follow this way to come to the LIP.
- Go to the bus station and take the bus line C22. Get down at the "Place des docteurs Mérieux" stop. Then follow this way to come to the LIP.
- Go to the bus station and take the bus line C60. Get down at the "Halle Tony Garnier" stop. Then follow this way to come to the LIP.
By Public Bicycle
Lyon is one of the first cities to introduce a public bicycle system, called Vélo'v. If you have time and would like to refresh your mind before arriving at our office, you should definitely chose this mean. From any train station (Perrache or Part-Dieu) the trip should not take you more than 30 minutes. Bicycles have to be deposited at special Vélo'v stations.
