Hydrodynamique des foules
Modélisation hydrodynamique d'une foule polarisée
By studying the motion of runners approaching the starting line of marathon races, researchers from the Matter & Complexity team established the hydrodynamics of polarized crowds flows. Their work, published in Science on January 4, 2019, quantitatively predicts how density and velocity fluctuations propagate through pedestrian crowds. Observing crowd flows in the start corals of the 2016 Chicago Marathon Bain and Bartolo were able to predict the motion of thousands of marathon runners gathered on the Champs Elysées in Paris on 2017.
