Glass-forming liquid models motivated by the concept of geometric frustration
Pascal Viot (LPTMC)
After an brief overview on the glassy behaviors of supercooled liquids, we focus on the concept of geometrical frustration in simple liquids. By considering two-dimensional curved manifolds with constant curvature, it appears that the frustration can be varied continuously and modifies the glassy behavior of these models. We also characterize these systems in terms of topological defects and propose some experimental perspectives.
