CAREER
Alla Lemeune (Bessmertnykh-Lemeune) is CNRS Senior Researcher (CR-HC) at the Laboratoire de Chimie de l'ENS de Lyon. She graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1985. After PhD thesis with Pr. Yu. S. Shabarov in Moscow (1988), she joined the laboratory of Pr. I. P. Beletskaya at Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2000, she moved in France and after post-doctoral fellowships with Pr. R. Guilard, Dr. G. Bertrand and Pr. F. Hénin, she was appointed Development responsible at Finorga/Novasep. She received her habilitation in Organic Chemistry in 2002 and got a tenure position at CNRS in 2005. Until 2019, she worked in the Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de l'Université de Bourgogne (Dijon) where she was director of International Associated Laboratory "LAboratory of Macrocyclic systems and RElated Materials" (LAMREM) created by CNRS, Burgundy University, Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Foundation for Basic Researches. In 2019, she moved in Lyon to work in the group of Pr. L. Bonneviot.

Research
The studies are related to sustainable chemistry and protection of the environment. They are focused on the chemistry of nitrogen-donating ligands and their complexes and consist of three main topics:
-
- development of chemosensors and sensing materials for selective detection of harmful enviromentally and bilogically relevant metal ions;
-
- biomimetic studies of supramolecular metal complexes and coordination polymers, aiming at a deeper comprehension of natural processes and development of advanced photoactive and thermochromic materials;
-
- preparation of porous organic-inorganic materials for sustainable catalytic reactions.
Our "bottom up" strategy is composed of three consecutive steps: 1) synthesis of sophisticated nitrogen-donating ligands functionalized by phosphorous and carboxylate groups; 2) investigation of their coordination properties; 3) design and preparation of functional organic-inorganic materials.
We are developping rational synthetic approaches to functional nitrogen-donating nigands, studing their unusual coordination properties and exploiring different routes for their immobilization such as self-assembly, incorporation into crystalline metal-organic frameworks and amorphouse metal oxide matrices, grafting onto a surface of metal oxides and preparation of film materials using SAM and LB techniques.
During least nine years (2011-2019), we was working with six Russian groups (Pr. V. Arslanov, Dr. A. Averin, Pr. I. Beletskaya, Dr. A. Cheprakov, Dr. Yu. gorbunova, Pr. S. Nefedov) in the frame of International Associated Laboratory of CNRS "LAboratory of Macrocyclic systems and RElated Materials" (LAMREM).
