Ugi-type reactions: a never ending source of innovation

Ugi-type reactions are multicomponent couplings which involve an aldehyde, an amine, an isocyanide and an acid derivative. The present work aims to present how Ugi adducts can be used to obtain quite complex heterocyclic scaffolds, how theoretical calculations can help to design new Ugi adducts and access to post-condensations.
