Training sessions

Place : Salle de travaux pratiques (M7 1H04), Centre Blaise Pascal, ENS-Lyon

The slot from 10 am to 12 am is mainly dedicated to the connection on the PSMN's servers, the use of servers, tools for sequential codes, etc.

In the afternoon slot, from 2 pm to 5 pm, topics such as the batch system, tools for parallel codes, etc. are discussed.

Requirements:

YOU MUST HAVE A USER ACCOUNT on the PSMN's servers in order to attend this training session. If it is not the case, you have to apply for an account creation (here) BEFORE the training.

You are requested to bring a laptop that can handle a ssh connection via a terminal: under Linux/MacOS this is usually present by default, while for Windows, there is a need to use a combination of tools that need to be pre-installed: PuTTY/KiTTY, plink & WinSCP.

Participants should already know the basic GNU/Linux commands. We recommend you to take a look at web tutorial to learn the basic command to use in a terminal:

Immersion cooling

Tuesdays coffee / Meetings between staff members and users

The Tuesdays coffee or the Meetings between PSMN's staff ans PSMN's users take place every Tuesdays at 1:30pm, they are an open discussion time between the users and the staff, for example this meetings could be an opportunity to look at possible problems encountered by users and a place to discuss your proposals about software installation, resources requiremnts, etc.!

Tuesdays coffee are held from 1:30pm at the “salle de formation du CBP” (M7 1H04), located at the 1H floor (between the first 1st and the 2nd floor, yeah we know it totally sounds like Platform 9 3/4 !)
