Florent Perret received his PhD from the University of Clermont-Ferrand in 2002, under the joint supervision of N. Morel-Desrosiers and A. W. Coleman, working on the “Thermodynamic and Structural Studies of the Complexation of Amino acids and Model Molecules by Water Soluble Calixarenes”. After two years in S. Matile’s group in Geneva where he carried out research on "Synthetic Ion Channels” he came back to Lyon in Anthony Coleman’s research group as a post-doc working on “Anionic Calix[8]arene Synthesis”. He was then nominated in 2008 as assistant professor in Lyon where he joined the group of H. Parrot-Lopez, working on the “Synthesis of Amphiphilic Cyclodextrins”. Since 2014, his research activities mainly focus on Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry. He defended his Habilitation thesis to supervise research in may 2023 and joined the Chemistry Laboratory of ENS in july 2025.
