Non linear optics on hybrid gold nano particles
In the last decade, multiphoton excitation-based techniques found tremendous development for various applications such as biological imaging or therapy. In the context of two photon techniques, nano particles can play different roles: enhancement of the local electric field and modification of the radiative emission rate (Purcell effect) but also creation of additional non radiative channels… Understanding the interaction between nano particles and the surrounding fluorophores is the key issue for both fundamental and practical aspects of fluorescence and/or SHG enhancement.
