School students visiting
As part of the project "Computer modeling and processing in science" led by Thomas Charon, Auguste and Louis Lumière school science teatcher, 18 pupils of 10th grade will discover a digital research environment. They will visit a cluster computing ressource containing more than 6000 processors at the Scientific Pole of Numerical Modeling of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon. They will also have the opportunity to practice by simulating the folding of proteins. Folding proteins is a crucial phenomenon to better find tomorrow's drugs. Thomas Charon's students will also be the opportunity to meet researchers for talking about research fields and the importance of the computer tool for their work. This project has been labeled Passion Recherche by the CNRS.
