Gyorgy Hajnoczky's lab at the Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, USA. Subsequently, she started using model organism in Pr Sylvia Lee's lab at Cornell University, Ithaca, USA, where she was awarded a United Mitochondrial Disease Fellowship to work on mitochondria in aging processes in the nematode C. elegans. An ERG Marie Curie fellowship allowed to pursue her research in Hugo Aguilaniu's lab. She joined Bertrand Mollereau's lab in 2016 to study the role of the mitochondria in cell death and physiopathology. She teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in molecular biology and genetics

Marion Celle joined the Mollereau team in Octobre 2020. She obtained a Master degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Université Lyon1 and she is currently an Ingenieur d’étude in the team. She is interested by neurodegeneration associated with dysregulation of autophagy. She has established and study a model of BPAN (Beta-propeller Protein Associated with Neurodegeneration) disease in Drosophila melanogaster. BPAN is a rare neurodegenerative disease associated with the mutation of wdr45, identified in 2012. Wdr45 is a gene involved in the regulation of several steps in autophagy pathways, however its exact role in BPAN disease is still unclear. In particurlar, she is interested on the causative role of wdr45 in regulation of autophagy of iron metabolism and ER stress pathway that are all dysregulated in BPAN disease.

Sahra Aniorte
Ph.D Student ENS Lyon
Tel: +33 (0)4 72 72 89 29 / Mail:  click here

Sahra is a PhD student who joined the lab in 2022. During her pharmacy studies in Toulouse, she focused on research, undertaking internships in which she participated in the optimisation of a bacterial genotyping technique (Guet-Revillet team, Toulouse University Hospital), studying the DNM2 gene in congenital myopathies (Laporte team, IGBMC Strasbourg), and characterising a fusion transcript expressed in endometrial sarcomas (Tirode team, CRCL). After graduating from the Genetics and Epigenetics Master 2 at Sorbonne University, Sahra is now studying BPAN disease, a rare neurodegenerative disorder associated to WDR45 mutations, and its impact on neurobiology and neuronal network in a drosophila melanogaster model.

Yingquan SHAN defended his doctoral thesis in September 2025 and is currently undertaking postdoctoral research in the lab. He received his Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from East China Normal University, where he joined Prof. Jian LUO's lab and employed cellular and mouse models to investigate the regulatory functions of G-protein-coupled receptors in degenerative bone disorders, including osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Upon graduation, he was selected for the PROSFER (Programme of Sino-French Education for Research) program and joined the lab in October 2021. His doctoral research focused on elucidating the role of lipid droplets during germ cell death using Drosophila model.

Xiaojing Yue is a post-doc who joined the lab in 2024. She received her Ph. D in Neuroscience from ESPCI under the mentorship of Dr. Serge Birman, she studied gut-brain axis in Parkinson`s disease (PD) using Drosophila model. She joined Pr. Bruno Lemaitre's lab immediately after her Ph. D as a post-doc to study the function of innate immunity on neurodegeneration. Subsequently she went back to Dr. Serge Birman`s lab as a post-doc to work on a project collaborated with Pr. Bertrand Mollereau for 8 months. Where she studied the role of lipid droplets in dopaminergic neurons in Drosophila PD model.

Anissa Souidi
Post doc, Fondation de France

Anissa Souid, is a PhD in Genetics and Human Disease Modeling. She defended and obtained her PhD in January 2023 from the University of Clermont Auvergne. During her PhD project funded by AFM telethon, she focused on studying the deregulation of a microRNA called miR-1 in cardiac cells, using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. Her work led to the discovery that miR-1 targets collagen XV, a key gene implicated in cardiac dilation. She demonstrated that the inhibition of miR-1, which is observed in patients with Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1, causes the overexpression of collagen XV, ultimately contributing to cardiac dilation and dysfunction. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at École Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Lyon, working in Pr. Mollereau's team. Her research project funded by the Foundation for Medical Research (Fondation pour la recherche médicale) focuses on understanding the role of lipid droplets and mitochondria in the dysfunction and degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in Parkinson's disease, using Drosophila melanogaster as a model.

Akandé Rouchidane Eyitayo is a PhD in Biochemistry. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Science and Technology of Masuku (Franceville, Gabon) in 2017. In 2018, he was awarded a France-Gabon Cooperation Scholarship to study for a master's degree in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology at the University of Bordeaux. In 2020, he obtained a grant from the Agence Nationale des Bourses du Gabon (ANBG) to carry out his PhD project entitled "The membrane insertion of the pro-apoptotic protein Bax is a multi-step TOM22-dependent process" under the supervision of Dr. Stéphen Manon. He is a specialist in the study of membrane proteins, with special emphasis on the Bcl-2 family members. He is currently investigating the role of lipid droplet proteome in the resistance to cell death using cancer cell lines and Drosophila melanogaster models. The project is carried on in Bertrand Mollereau's laboratory at LBMC (ENS de Lyon).
