The main contribution of this PhD thesis consists in building an automated and data-driven texture segmentation procedure. We will not only talk about image processing, Gaussian fields and convex optimization but also about physics, since the proposed method applied successfully on images from multiphasic flow through porous media experiments conducted in the laboratory.
