Explosive synchronization in complex networks
Zonghua Liu (East China Normal University)
Synchronization transition has been intensively investigated in complex networks. It has been demonstrated this transition is always a second-order phase transition, no matter its network topology. However, this conclusion was recently challenged in SF networks of Kuramoto oscillators, where the phase transition was proved to be a first-order transition when the natural frequencies of the oscillators are positively correlated to the degrees of nodes. In this talk, I will discuss this topic and briefly introduce its recent progress.
