Genetics of paternal effects

We study a rare class of Drosophila paternal effect mutants that affect the integration of paternal chromosomes in the zygote.

We have recently characterized the paternal loss (pal) mutant, which induces the sporadic loss of paternal chromosomes after fertilization. A free pdf of our Science research article (Dubruille, Herbette, et al., Science, 2023) is available here: https://www.science.org/stoken/author-tokens/ST-1536/full

An interesting perspective article by Dr. Mia Levine (University of Pennsylvania, USA) is also available in this same issue: "A case of mistaken epigenetic identity".
