Scintillators for radioelement detection

F. Chaput, F. Lerouge, S. Parola

The aim of the project is to prepare monolithic porous scintillating materials for use in radioelement detection. The first step is to optimize scintillating nanostructures based on Rare Earth doped YAG, Gd2O2 S: Tb3+ or Lu3Al5O12 Ce3+. In a second step these nanostructures are introduced into transparent porous monolithic hybrid silica. The photoluminescence and radioluminescence will be investgated and correlated with the microstructure of the composite materials.

Collaboration with Institut Lumière Matière Lyon and the Institute of Ceramics of AGH university (Poland).
