Sujet ;
Reversible acetylation of histones and nonhistone proteins play pivotal role in the regulation of cellular homeostasis. Dysfunction of these machineries may lead to several diseases. We have found that hyperacetylation of histones and a type of histone chaperone closely linked to cancer manifestation. Small molecule HAT modulators thus could be a promising therapeutics, apart from their use to probe HAT functions. We have discovered a few HAT inhibitors and the only HAT activator, CTPB. The HAT activator could be targeted to mice brain with the help of self fluorescent carbon nanoshpere. Implication of these finding will be discussed, focusing the mechanism of HAT function and Diseases.
