At the end of August this year, ENS de Lyon organized an integration week to welcome students from around the world, as part of its policy of increased international attractiveness.

Since August 22, more than 50 students from 30 different nationalities have been welcomed by specially selected teams to help them settle in and get to know the administrative support staff. The foreign students followed a week-long induction program at ENS de Lyon, to get to know each other and start the new academic year in the best possible way.

StudentsThe week's program included:

  • Intensive level-based French courses;
  • Practical information on administrative procedures;
  • Thematic workshops on health and nutrition given by the Medical department;
  • Tours of Lyon and cultural visits (The Old Town - Vieux Lyon, the Croix Rousse district, The Confluence Museum...);
  • Visits to both ENS de Lyon sites and the Diderot Library.

A visit to the on-site “polyglot café” and an international lunch was particularly appreciated, giving participants the opportunity to talk and make new friends.

A copy of the Welcome Handbook, now in English, was given to each student to give them a helping hand during their first weeks at ENS de Lyon.

To bring the induction program to a close, international students are invited to an evening meet-and-greet with complimentary refreshments on September 26.
