Every year, ENS de Lyon recruits teachers and researchers on contract.

As part of its "HR Excellence in Research" (HRS4R) labelling, ENS de Lyon has signed up to the "Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment”. ENS de Lyon is recruiting:

  • 1 Junior professorship to be filled as of September 1st, 2024. Application until May 16, 2024 at 4:00 pm (Paris time).
  • 15  full-time Temporary teaching and research assistants for the 2024-2025 academic year. Application until May 13, 2024, 4:00 pm (Paris time).

Are eligible to apply

  • Candidates for the position of foreign language lecturer must have successfully completed one year of study after obtaining a French or foreign diploma equivalent to the "Licence" diploma. In France, a Bachelor's degree is equivalent to a "Licence", and is therefore not eligible for the position of lecturer.
  • Candidates for the position of foreign language teacher must hold a French or foreign diploma equivalent to the national Master 2 diploma.
  • The maximum duration of employment as a lecturer or as a language teacher in France is a total of two years (whether or not the contract is with the same establishment). If you have already been a lecturer in a French administration for two years, you are not eligible to apply.

A single PDF file, including all the documents in the application file, must be submitted to DEMATEC

Step 5 – Results

Candidates selected for the position will be informed by email and will be invited to return their acceptance of the position.

Important :

Requirements to apply

Have a PhD or equivalent degree. For candidates who do not have a PhD, the equivalence of their academic degrees, qualifications and titles will be submitted to the Restricted Scientific Council of ENS de Lyon.

How to apply

Documents to be attached to the application in Galaxie/FIDIS:

  • Identity document with photograph (identity card, passport);
  • Copy of the doctorate diploma or equivalent diploma;
  • Copy of the diploma defence report, or failing that, a certificate from the institution certifying that no defence report has been drawn up;
    • Important: The defence report must be translated into French.
    • If your degree is foreign, the equivalence with a French doctorate will be studied by the institution's authorities, so that your application can be declared admissible or not;
  • An analytical presentation of the works, books, articles, achievements and activities related to the profile of the position in question, mentioning those that the candidate intends to present at the audition;
  • A copy of each of the works, books, articles and achievements mentioned in the analytical presentation and which the candidate intends to present at the audition, without exceeding six documents.

Audition procedures

Only candidates who have been selected by the selection committee will be invited to the audition. Duration: 40-minute audition, including 20 minutes of presentation and 20 minutes of discussion with the jury.

The hearing may be held in French or English.

The audition is not open to the public.

Foreign teachers or research scientists holding a PhD and having carried out teaching or research duties for at least 2 years.

  • Service obligations for full-time ATER: 192 hours (eq tutorial) + research activity
  • Service obligations for part-time ATER: 96 hours (eq tutorial) + research activity
