On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the Laboratory of Chemistry (LCH) at ENS de Lyon will host Professor Kenichiro Itami, invited through the CNRS Ambassador program. He will present a seminar on the topic of unexplored “carbon” functions.

As part of the CNRS “Fellow-Ambassador” program, the Laboratory of Chemistry (LCH) at ENS de Lyon will welcome Professor Kenichiro Itami on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

On this occasion, Professor Itami will present a seminar at 2:00 PM on the Monod campus of ENS de Lyon, in Building M6, Collet Room.

The seminar, open to all but aimed at an informed audience, will focus on Professor Itami’s research activities and is titled: “Toward unexplored ‘carbon’ functions: Molecular nanocarbons, catalysis, materials, chemical biology.”

“Professor Itami’s research closely aligns with the work carried out at LCH, making our laboratory an ideal audience to appreciate his contributions and exchange ideas with him,” explains Christophe Bucher, CNRS Research Director at LCH. “Hosting CNRS ambassadors allows us to welcome top international scientists, foster collaborations, and highlight our own research activities. Being selected to host an ambassador is a recognition of our lab’s vitality, reputation, and scientific influence.”

The CNRS “Ambassadors” Program

Starting from 2019, CNRS Chemistry has been running the “Ambassadors” program, an innovative initiative that allows unit directors to invite distinguished scientists based abroad to give a series of lectures at CNRS laboratories. More details here.
