ENS de Lyon bets on international strategic partnerships and networks to enhance its research & academic programs, and to stand on the global stage. It also encourages academic mobility beyond borders, whether through exchange programs such as Erasmus, internships and sabbaticals.
ENS de Lyon has been certified by the European Commission for the new Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027, with the maximum score of 100/100.
Relying on strong research cooperation, the ENS de Lyon has developed a global network of academic and research partnerships over the years.
The Group of French Écoles normales supérieures (ENS) has signed a cooperation agreement with the China Scholarship Council - CSC, providing funding for 30 PhD students for the whole ENS group (Paris, Paris-Saclay, Lyon, Rennes), on the basis of a selection by the ENS and by the CSC.
Our partnership with East China Normal University is the most structured international alliance to date with the ENS de Lyon. It features three components:

The University of Rome "Sapienza" and ENS de Lyon, together with the University of Amsterdam and the Free university of Amsterdam, have partnered to offer their students a triple-diploma Master’s degree in Physics or Chemistry focused on computer modelling of physical, chemical and biomolecular systems.
The Tohoku university and ENS de Lyon have partnered to offer a joint PhD in an interdisciplinary research environment in fields related to the history, politics, society, law, and economics of Japan and East Asia.
The University of Amsterdam, the Free university of Amsterdam and ENS de Lyon, together with the University of Rome "Sapienza", have partnered to offer their students a triple-diploma Master’s degree in Physics or Chemistry focused on computer modelling of physical, chemical and biomolecular systems.
The University of Freiburg and ENS de Lyon have partnered to offer their students a dual-diploma Master’s degree in Germanic studies, political science and modern literature.
The ENS de Lyon and uOttawa have decided to create an international network of universities to develop a shared arena for training and research. This partnership is yet another example of the multilateral collaborations supported by the Alliance internationale de l'Université de Lyon.
