Description générale

Studying and comparing to and with Japanese law from a European perspective is a worthwhile endeavor – but one that is sadly too often neglected. At the height of Japan’s economic power, it was relatively easy to justify why Japanese law should be studied and included in comparative research. But what about today? This talk will explore a number of reasons for including the Japanese legal system and its solutions to contemporary challenges in comparative studies – some better known than others, some more compelling than others.
