Jean-François Pinton, President of the ENS de Lyon, was a member of the official delegation accompanying French President François Hollande on his state visit to India, in Chandigarh and New Delhi, from January 24 to 26, 2016.
Several partnerships between universities were signed during that visit, including one framework agreement between the ENS de Lyon and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune. This agreement aims to launch a strategic cooperation in training and research between both institutions, and follows on a visit from an IISER Pune delegation to Lyon in November 2015.
IISER Pune is an innovative public institution founded in 2006, and the first institute in a network of IISERs that aims to promote scientific education and top-flight research.
