FELiCiTE has invited Luise von Flotow (université d'Ottawa) & Hala Kamal (Cairo University) to present the last Routlege Handbook on translation in our 17th of november webinar on feminism and traductology.
Structured around five parts on Translating and Publishing Women (I), Translating Feminist Writers (II), Feminism, Gender and Queer in Translation (III), Gender in Grammar, Technologies and Audiovisual Translation (IV), and Discourses in Translation (V), The Routlege Handbook on Translation, Feminism and Gender is a collection of essays from many prominent researchers from The Maghreb, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Austria, France, Italy, Scotland, UK,
Poland and Bulgaria. It was carefully crafted and transnationally organized by Luise von Flotow and Hala Kamal whose previous researchs on translation, gender studies & feminism have influenced and inspire both Feminist translation studies and feminist travelling concept studies.
Introduced by Olga Castro (University of Warwick), the co-director of another famous book on the subject Feminist translation studies: local and transnational perspective, Hala Kamal and Luise von Flotow will present the respective paths that brought them together to direct this volume, and how it contribute to feminist translation studies, and translation studies in general.
