Puneet Ahuja

Puneet Ahuja - AstraZenecaAfter my masters in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai (India) in 2006, I joined the Swiss Federal Institute (EPFL) in Lausanne (Switzerland) to complete a Phd in developing new NMR methods using Long-Lived States for studying slow dynamic processes of biomolecules. After finishing my Phd in 2010, I joined a CNRS laboratory (CNRS UMR 8576) in Lille (France) as a post doc, where I worked upon studying structure and dynamics by NMR of a new class of therapeutics, alphabodies, that has entered into pre clinical phase of drug development.
Presently, I am working as a post doc at AstraZeneca R&D Mölndal (Sweden) under the framework of pNMR network with the project entitled “Structure determination of ligands bound to paramagnetically tagged target proteins of pharmaceutical interest”. This complementary approach to X-ray crystallography could be of of tremendous value as it would enable more efficient synthetic chemistry efforts in drug discovery at AstraZeneca.
