The Tour of π is a free scientific event for the general public that will take place during Mathematics week. It is a mathematical musical interwoven with three 15-minute scientific conferences for all audiences, in a typical TED format. Irène Gannaz (INSA-ICJ), Igor Kortchemski (Ecole Polytechnique and University Paris-Saclay) as well as Nathalie Revol (Inria, LIP). The speakers will be Irène Gannaz (INSA-ICJ), Igor Kortchemski (Ecole Polytechnique and Paris-Saclay University) and Nathalie Revol (Inria, LIP).
The theme of the evening is chance. A summary of the show: Stress, deadlines, dreams of grandeur, disillusionment, lack of recognition, prospect of unemployment, with their social and love life on hold: set in Marseille, four PhD students in mathematics, working as "junior researchers", are ready for anything to escape from their everyday life. Naturally, they all have the 'idea of the century'... a century too late...
The ENS de Lyon is a partner in this project, via the Math laboratory (UMPA), the Information Technology laboratory (LIP) and the department of Culture, as well as other establishments in Lyon. ENS de Lyon doctorate students are on the organizational team, along with the «Maison des mathématiques et de l'informatique» (MMI).
Book to avoid disappointment.
The Tour of π is a fun event that was successful last year in Marseille, at La Criée theater. Watch the videos to discover more.
