At a time of international crises and global challenges, diplomacy plays a crucial role in international relations. Today's diplomatic professions offer a wide range of career paths and missions, but what are the issues and challenges facing these careers? The conference on the professions of diplomacy, with a particular focus on the challenges facing French diplomacy in Latin America, will address these questions.

Yves Saint-Geours is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institut Pasteur. A qualified history teacher and specialist in Latin America, he was Director of the French Institute for Andean Studies in Lima (1985-1990). A career diplomat, he was ambassador to Sofia (2004-2007), then to Brasilia (2009-2012), Director General of Administration and Modernization (2012-2015), and finally French ambassador to Madrid (2015-2019).
