Overview
The Master’s degree in Economics delivered by ENS de Lyon has a single track called “Advanced Economics”. This two-year program, entirely taught in English, establishes solid foundations in all areas of economics and emphasizes rigorous research under close faculty supervision.
The first year of the program is built around core courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, and Econometrics, complemented by an internship in academia, government, or international organizations. In the second year, students take advanced courses in different fields of economics, participate in ENS de Lyon’s seminar series, and write their Master's theses under the supervision of an experienced researcher.
Elective courses in public and constitutional law and area studies focusing on East and Southeast Asia, the Middle-East and the neighborhoods of the EU offer interested students opportunities to broaden their perspectives.
Our program provides students with highly demanded research skills for careers in government, think tanks, consulting, banks and other financial institutions. For academia-oriented students, our rigorous approach provides an excellent preparation for a PhD in Economics.
The Economics faculty at ENS de Lyon has a solid reputation as contributors to the frontiers of knowledge in France and abroad.
