The session "Understanding crises differently" intends to fill a gap and defend a new economic approach to crises. The proposed session will illustrate how the theoretical underpinnings of chaos and analysis of complex systems, enriched by econometric applications in a nonlinear framework, should allow for the in-depth renewal of our analyses and understanding of the major crises in history.
