International symposium, organized by the CIHAM, on Lyon under Carolingian dynasty

This international symposium, organized by the CIHAM, will be held jointly at the Gadagne museum, the Lyon municipal library and the ENS de Lyon. It will focus on a key period in history when Lyon established itself as a hub for research and study in the heart of Europe, under the Carolingian dynasty. While the scientific discussions will be for researchers and students only, three conferences will be open to the public:
  • September 15 at 5pm: Michael I. Allen - Talking about oneself during the Early Middle Ages. The manuscripts of Agobard of Lyon and Heiric of Auxerre.
  • September 16 at 2 pm: Rosamond McKitterick - The Carolingian manuscripts of the Lyon municipal library.
  • September 16 at 6:45 pm: Olivia Puel - The Carolingian monasteries of the Lyon diocese.
