Within minutes, plants activate survival mechanisms in response to environmental stress. A study published in Current Biology shows that this process relies on the remodeling of membrane lipids.
This mechanism allows cells to “clean” their membranes, helping plants adapt and resume growth after stress. Using advanced imaging tools, scientists observed this phenomenon in real time, revealing unique mechanisms of resilience in the plant world.
