According to a press release dated October 20, 2026. A consortium of scientists from Université Côte d’Azur and the CNRS—including members of the Institut de Physique de Nice, the Laboratoire de Physique at ENS de Lyon, the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Physique in Grenoble, and several European partners—has uncovered a previously unknown mechanism for the relaxation of liquid foams after flow ceases. This research, published in October 2026 in Physical Review Letters, opens up new avenues for understanding and controlling soft materials. In September 2026, RDP researcher Thomas Widiez received the Early Career Research Award in Plant Reproduction. Bernard Lahire is a sociologist, a CNRS research director, a senior member of the Institut universitaire de France, and a member of the Max Weber Center as part of the “Dispositions, Powers, Cultures, Socializations” research team. As part of the ENS-IISER partnership, Nikita SHARMA, a doctoral student at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, joined ENS de Lyon through the BIOSANTEXC program and completed a three-month internship at the IGFL.

CERGIC postdoctoral researcher Kenza Elass won the “Young Researcher Prize,” awarded by the University of Luxembourg for her article “What Do Women Want in a Job?”

Yoan Coudert, a biologist and CNRS researcher at the RDP (Plant Reproduction and Development) laboratory, and Louise Joor, a Belgian comic book author, have published Avant les fleurs: Enquête scientifique aux origines des plantes with CNRS Éditions.

Isabel Colón de Carvajal, Associate Professor at ENS de Lyon and Director of the ICAR laboratory, and Nathalie Blanc, Associate Professor of Education at Claude-Bernard Lyon 1 University, have published the book 60 Years of Applied Linguistics: Toward More Engaged Research with John Benjamins Publishing Company.

At the ENC Conference, the largest international conference on magnetic resonance, Guido Pintacuda, CNRS Research Director and Director of the High-Field NMR Center, was awarded the Günther Laukien Prize, which recognizes innovative experimental research in NMR with high potential.

ENS de Lyon, the CNRS, the University of Lyon 1, and IFP Énergies nouvelles announce the launch of the Labcom ERACLECE (Rational Exploration of Catalysts for the Circular Economy and Process Decarbonization).

Press release – Over the course of five years, researchers sequenced 55,000 genes to produce the first rose pangenome. Coordinated by INRAE together with the ENS de Lyon, Huazhong University (Wuhan) and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Shenzhen), the work provides valuable resources for breeding high-quality roses better suited to global change. The findings were published in Nature Genetics.
