Horizon Europe is the European Union’s framework program for research and innovation for the period from 2021 to 2027. Horizon Europe thus succeeds the H2020 program. Horizon Europe has a budget of approximately 95.5 billion euros for 2021–2027. This represents an increase of about 30% compared to the current research and innovation program, H2020. This budget will also benefit from contributions from future associated countries. As was the case with its predecessor, Horizon Europe’s activities will be carried out through open and competitive calls for proposals.

Two new ERC Starting Grants for CIRI and LARHRA

According to the press release issued on September 5, 2025. The European Research Council (ERC) has just announced the list of recipients of Starting Grants for 2025. The Lyon metropolitan area has two projects: one led by François Rousset at the International Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Lyon on conflicts between bacteria and viruses, and the other by Katja Doose at the Rhône-Alpes Historical Research Laboratory on the history of non-Western discourses on environmental change.

Solid-state NMR spectroscopy is a powerful tool for analyzing matter. With PANACEA, it is no longer limited to the academic community at the forefront of this field. The broader public research sector and industry can now access this highly valuable technology throughout Europe. The project is coordinated by the Very High Field NMR Center of Lyon (CNRS / Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 / ENS de Lyon).
