The 2022 European Étoile Trophy rewards the Prometheus project

Honors and awards

Benoît Libert, Octavie Paris and Sébastien Canard received the Special Jury Award for the H2020 PROMETHEUS project.

Created by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Étoiles de l'Europe trophy rewards coordinators of European research and innovation projects led by French organizations. This honorary prize aims at highlighting the European commitment of research teams who have excelled through the success of their projects.

The tenth edition of the Étoiles de l'Europe award ceremony took place on December 6, 2022, at the Quai Branly Jacques Chirac museum, as part of the Horizon Europe Forum, under the high patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Research, Sylvie Retailleau.

Among the 2022 winners: the H2020 PROMETHEUS project, for which ENS de Lyon is the coordinating partner. The Special Jury Prize was awarded to Benoît Libert  - CNRS Research Director at LIP, project coordinator -, Octavie Paris -  LIP/ENS de Lyon, project manager - and Sébastien Canard - Orange SA, technical manager.

 

PROMETHEUS project

PROMETHEUS aims to provide post-quantum signature schemes, encryption schemes and privacy-preserving protocols relying on lattice. The goal is to propose solutions for anonymous authentication mechanisms, for several concrete applications such as payment systems or electronic voting.
